Tata Motors has announced discounts of up to Rs 1 lakh on the Altroz facelift that was launched just 3 months ago. Priced between Rs 6.89 lakh and Rs 11.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the hatchback is available in 22 variants.

The discounts vary from model to model. Also, such a big price cut so soon reflects the pressure in the premium hatchback segment.

Sales

Tata sold 3,905 units of the Altroz in July 2025. In comparison to this, Maruti Suzuki Baleno led the segment by selling 12,503 units.

The Hyundai i20 also sold 3,396 units. What is worrying is that between February and July, Altroz sales stood at 16,092 units, much lower than the Baleno’s 74,104 units and the i20’s 22,875 units.

Moreover, despite new variants and wider fuel options, consumer sentiment continues to shift towards established rivals, and compact SUVs are further eating into hatchback demand.
