Mumbai local train services disrupted after rail fracture between Vikhroli and Kanjurmarg
Mumbai’s suburban local trains faced major delays on Tuesday morning after a rail fracture was detected between Vikhroli and Kanjurmarg. The down slow line was repaired within minutes, but speed restrictions and diversions caused 10–20 minute delays during peak hours, affecting millions of commuters before services gradually normalized.
Suburban local trains, Mumbai’s lifeline were disrupted on Tuesday morning after a rail fracture was detected between Vikhroli and Kanjurmarg stations on the Central Railway’s main line. The incident occurred during peak hours.
Worryingly the city’s busiest transport system was temporarily slowed affecting millions of daily commuters.
Rail fracture detected during morning rush hour
According to railway officials the fracture was detected on the down slow line at 7:32 am. Safety protocols were implemented immediately after the fracture was detected.
Significantly officials imposed speed restrictions and diverted some trains. Due to this disruption many local trains ran 10 to 20 minutes behind schedule causing delays across the network.
Immediate response and speed limits
Central Railway staff repaired the damaged track section without delay. Most importantly by 7:58 am the line was declared safe for operation. Trains were instructed to travel through the affected section at a speed limit of 30 kmph.
Until clearance was granted slow trains from Matunga were diverted to the fast line to keep services as safe as possible.
Central Railway Chief Public Relations Officer, Swapnil Neela confirmed that the quick response helped prevent major disruptions and ensured that normal services could gradually resume.
Impact on Mumbai’s High-Density Rail Corridor
The Central Railway’s main line is one of the most heavily used suburban corridors in the country. It connects South Mumbai to the eastern suburbs and further to Thane and Raigad districts.
Considering that over 3.5 million passengers rely on this network daily even minor infrastructure issues significantly impact passengers.
However services returned to normal soon after repairs were completed. Most notably the temporary slowdown disrupted the busy morning commute with trains packed at many stations and extended wait times.
Services Gradually Restored
We would like to inform you that operations had largely stabilized by late morning.
However minor delays continued on some routes. Officials assured the public that the affected section is completely safe and monitoring will continue to ensure smooth operations.

Foreign Passenger Climbs IndiGo Counter at Mumbai Airport as Massive Cancellations Spark Chaos
A video from Mumbai airport went viral showing a foreign passenger climbing onto an IndiGo counter and shouting at staff after her flight was cancelled amid nationwide disruptions caused by IndiGo’s massive flight cancellations.
The incident comes amidst widespread disruption to air travel across India due to mass flight cancellations by IndiGo. This has led to chaotic scenes and passenger anger at several major airports.
One such moment went viral on Friday when a foreign passenger identified as an African woman climbed onto the IndiGo counter at Mumbai airport and began shouting at airline staff after her flight was abruptly cancelled.
In the video, widely shared on Instagram the distressed woman is seen demanding answers from IndiGo employees, accusing the airline of ruining her travel plans and leaving passengers without food, accommodation or assistance.
Reportedly, when she received no clear explanation, she climbed onto the counter and began shouting at the staff while onlookers gathered in anger and confusion.
The clip has sparked mixed reactions on social media. Some criticized her behavior arguing that shouting at ground staff, who often have limited control during operational crises doesn’t help anyone. Others sympathized with her plight, noting that she missed an expensive international connecting flight due to the cancellation.
Many users insisted that IndiGo should take responsibility and compensate passengers facing such severe inconvenience. One user even claimed to have heard her say that she had decided to cancel her entire trip and return to France because the airline had “ruined everything.”
Hundreds of IndiGo Flights Cancelled, Causing Chaos Across the Country
This viral video comes amidst widespread chaos in IndiGo’s operations across the country. Over the past two days, more than 500 flights have been cancelled or significantly delayed, leaving thousands of passengers stranded at airports in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Ahmedabad.
At Ahmedabad airport, passengers endured hours of chaos throughout the night, as 19 flights were cancelled between midnight and 6 am.
One passenger, student Maharshi Jani broke down in tears explaining how the cancellations had disrupted his team’s plans to present at the Smart India Hackathon in Guwahati.
This disruption continues even after the DGCA temporarily suspended its controversial new Flight Duty Time Limitation (FDTL) rules which IndiGo admitted it had miscalculated for crew rostering. The airline has stated that “calibrated adjustments” will continue for the next 48 hours as it attempts to restore normal operations.

Complaint Filed Against Aryan Khan Over Alleged Obscene Gesture at Bengaluru Event
A legal complaint has been filed against Aryan Khan after a viral video allegedly showed him making an obscene gesture at a Bengaluru event. Police have begun a suo motu investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage.
A legal complaint has been filed against Aryan Khan son of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan. The complaint stems from a video that went viral online allegedly showing him making an obscene gesture (showing the middle finger) in front of a crowd at an event in Bengaluru.
The incident reportedly occurred on November 28 during a promotional gathering at a pub in the city. The video sparked outrage on social media platforms.
Lawyer Alleges Obscene Gesture and Insult to Women’s Modesty
The complaint was filed by lawyer Owais Hussain S, a resident of Sankey Road and submitted to several authorities, including the Director General of Police, the Bengaluru City Police Commissioner, and the Karnataka State Commission for Women.
Hussain claims that Aryan Khan made the gesture in the presence of several women arguing that it “insulted their modesty” and caused “public nuisance embarrassment and emotional distress.” He further stated that such behavior tarnishes Bengaluru’s image as a safe public space.
According to the complaint three charges have been leveled: deliberately making an obscene gesture in the presence of women, committing an act that causes nuisance or annoyance and engaging in conduct that could lead to public disorder.
The incident reportedly occurred within the jurisdiction of the Ashok Nagar police station.
Police Initiate Suo Motu Investigation
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Division) Hakay Akshay Machhindra confirmed that a suo motu investigation has already been initiated. Authorities are examining CCTV footage from the pub to verify the sequence of events.

Today’s Silver Rate in Mumbai (December 6, 2025)
Silver rates in Mumbai today are: Silver 10g: Rs 1,869, Silver 100g: Rs 18,690, Silver 1kg: Rs 1,86,900. These prices can change daily. Many people in Mumbai keep an eye on silver rates because of weddings, festivals, or investment plans. Silver is also used in some small businesses and local workshops. That affects demand here.
Today’s price is a bit higher than last week. The main reason is changes in international silver prices and the Indian rupee’s value against the dollar. When global markets change, the rates change in Mumbai too. Local taxes and transport costs also add a bit to the price.
Most people in Mumbai buy silver from trusted jewellers or big stores. Some buy coins or bars for investment, not just jewellery. It’s common to buy silver during festivals like Diwali or Akshaya Tritiya. That can push prices up around those times. In some areas, silver is also still part of dowry or gifts.
Always check the latest rates before buying. Prices on websites may not match the final price at the shop because of making charges and GST. Many jewellers update their rates twice a day. Bargaining is not common for silver the way it sometimes is for gold jewellery.
Mumbai’s silver market is big but not as big as gold. Still, many people trust silver as it’s more affordable. But remember, prices can rise or fall with little warning. If you plan to invest, keep track of daily rates and talk to your local stores for exact figures before making any decisions.
