Did Galgotias University Pass Off a Unitree Robot as Its Own? AI Summit ‘Orion’ Demo Sparks Political Row After Rahul Gandhi’s Remarks
A controversy erupted at the AI Impact Summit after a viral video showed a Galgotias University professor presenting a robot dog named “Orion” as an in-house creation. Online users later identified the machine as a Unitree Robotics quadruped robot. The university issued a clarification following widespread backlash.
A huge controversy erupted after a video at the ongoing AI Impact Summit went viral on social media.
A Galgotias University professor, Neha Singh, claimed that the robot dog, named “Orion”, was created in-house by the institution’s Centre of Excellence.
However, netizens quickly found out that it was a Chinese robot dog that the university was claiming as its own.
In the video, Professor Neha Singh claimed that the robot dog was created by the university and was deployed to conduct surveillance and monitoring duties across the university campus.

However, the machine closely resembled a commercially accessible quadruped robot mass-produced by Unitree Robotics.
Online users severely criticised the university for falsification.
Later, after the backlash, Galgotias University issued a clarification and stated that it had never claimed that the robot dog on display was created in-house.

The university also added that it regularly obtained advanced technologies from different locations, including China, Singapore, and the United States, to give its students firsthand exposure to AI technologies.
The university also claimed that the robot was a tool that facilitated students to experiment, learn about its capabilities, and give them a better understanding of robotics and artificial intelligence.
Unitree Robotics mass produces four-limbed robots, which have been nicknamed “robodogs” and can mimic animal movements and are employed for a wide range of applications, such as hurdle navigation, industrial inspection, research applications, and entertainment.
The robodogs manufactured by the company are very popular across the world because they are reasonably priced and rub shoulders with Boston Dynamics’ quadruped robot, Spot.
The episode has also caused a political storm, with the leader of the opposition, Rahul Gandhi, labelling the AI summit a “disorganised PR spectacle”.
Gandhi also alleged that Chinese products have been showcased while the Indian data has been compromised and put on sale.
He also added that the present Modi government has made India a laughing stock globally.

A fundraiser was initiated on GoFundMe, which rapidly found traction and managed to collect $500,000.
A 78-year-old delivery driver from Manchester worked for DoorDash, and his face is now widely recognized online.
The video was first posted by a homeowner named Brittany Smith on TikTok after Pulley completed her order.
In the video the elderly delivery man could be seen walking slowly because of his advanced age and gently placing the order at the customer’s doorstep before walking away.
The video touched the viewers who started to dig deeper to know why the person in this advanced age was forced to work.
The video became even more viral when Collin Rugg, co-founder of Trending Politics, posted it on social media.
Later Brittany Smith posted the message “Richard the Starbucks Delivery Man” and asked netizens to trace his whereabouts.
Pulley was discovered by netizens within hours, and the grim details of his life were revealed.
Pulley revealed that he was retired, but after his wife lost her job, the couple started to work together as delivery drivers.
Wife Brenda operated the vehicle while her husband managed the drop-offs by walking to the residence of the customers.
The couple had been happily married for 56 years but was forced out of retirement due to financial woes.
A fundraiser was initiated by Smith, and it got a huge response.
More than $300,000 was raised within the first day, and the figure is now $800,000. The couple was overwhelmed by the support and kindness shown by strangers.
Pulley stated.
“It’s just really difficult to believe that there are that many people that are that generous to try to help us, people that don’t even know us. We appreciate every one of them. It’s taking a lot of pressure off of us and making life livable once again.”

Is Jeffrey Epstein Alive? Viral Video of Lookalike Driving Luxury Car Sparks Fresh Conspiracy Theories
A viral video circulating on X shows a man resembling Jeffrey Epstein driving a luxury car, sparking fresh conspiracy theories about his 2019 death. However, many users argue it could simply be a case of mistaken identity.
A new video is making rounds on the internet of a man who bears a striking resemblance to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The video has once again reignited conspiracy theories that the sex offender did not die of suicide in 2019.
The short video was taken by a passing motorist and was widely shared on social media platforms, including X. The video shows a grey-haired man behind the steering wheel of a luxury vehicle. The man is seemingly composed and seems to enjoy the drive. The video has sparked intense discussions across social media platforms.
The internet is freaking out after this video was recorded in South Florida! WHO DOES THAT LOOK LIKE TO YOU??? pic.twitter.com/veQR6eWcXi

The man in the clip resembled Jeffrey Epstein and was wearing a white cap and sunglasses, making conclusive identification impossible. The video has added fuel to longstanding allegations that the convicted sex offender did not die by suicide in his jail cell, and many netizens are treating it as further proof that Epstein has made his escape.
The video has evoked a mixed response, with a sizeable number of netizens claiming that it was just another instance of a mistaken identity. However, there is a lot of scepticism about the official accounts of the whole sordid Jeffrey Epstein affair, including the circumstances of his death.
Netizens have responded in a mixed fashion, with one user contending,
‘I used to think there’s no way he’s alive; after the files, I’m not 100% certain,’
Another user commented,
“The resemblance to Jeffrey Epstein is spot on. I, for one, never believed him to be dead. For one, bad men like him live looooonnnnnngggggg.’
However, many netizens also questioned the logic of a fugitive driving a luxury vehicle in public.
‘If it really was who you’re insinuating it is, why would Jeff drive around in a convertible?’
This stand was also articulated by other users.
‘If that was Him, He wouldn’t be exposing Himself like that, especially not now.’
There were also some who expressed fears about the safety of the person featured in the video.

Is Benjamin Netanyahu Dead? ‘Six Fingers’ AI Video Claim Fuels Viral Rumors Amid Iran–Israel Conflict
Rumors about the death of Benjamin Netanyahu have spread widely online amid the ongoing Iran–Israel conflict. However, fact-checkers and platforms such as Grok say the claims are false, calling the viral posts and screenshots unverified misinformation.
The war in the Middle East is showing no signs of waning, and both parties are relentlessly attacking one another. Israel and America have already eliminated the top echelons of the Iranian government, which include its Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei.
There are unconfirmed reports that the newly elected supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, was wounded in the war. There are also reports that the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has suffered injuries in an attack by Iran.
There are also unconfirmed reports that he has been killed.
The latest video of an address by Benjamin Netanyahu has led to speculations, with many claiming that the video was AI-generated and showed the Israeli PM with six fingers on his hand.
Rumours about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s location and safety have increased.
There have been earlier rumours about Netanyahu being affected by Iran’s strikes, but they were all deemed false and devoid of any substance.
However, the latest video has only added to the speculations. Many even contend that the Israeli PM is dead.

One post on X claimed
“Heads up, EVERYONE. @netanyahu is DEAD. The official X handle of @IsraeliPM just deleted this tweet.”
However, internet sleuths soon found that the account has nothing to do with the Kremlin or Russia. Also, the claim that a post was deleted from the Israeli PM’s official handle was cross-checked with Grok and was found to be false.
Grok stated that no tweet was deleted by the Israeli PM, and the screenshot in the post is also fake.
Grok stated that the Israeli PM is alive, and the deluge of death rumors, mostly on Iranian media and social media posts, has been negated by Snopes, Times of Israel, and others as unverified misinformation.
The account also highlighted how Israeli Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent was called away in the middle of the meeting, which has also sparked speculation. While the same post contended that Bessent had left the press conference to talk to the US president.
The post also quoted political commentator Johannes M. Koenraadt, who stated that Netanyahu was dead, and it was in line with the body language of Bessent, complete with dead stiffness in Scott Bessent’s body and hands.
Grok has also cross-checked the claim that Netanyahu can be seen with six fingers in the video, and hence, it was AI-generated.
Grok stated that Netanyahu has five fingers on his right hand, and his gesturing at the podium created an optical illusion that looked like he had six fingers.
