The latest tranche of documents released by the Department of Justice contains many surprises, and one such is the appearance of the name of celebrity physician Peter Attia more than 1,700 times.

Peter Attia, who is now serving as a contributor to CBS News, came under scrutiny after his name appeared in the released files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Although the appearance of many high-profile names in the released files does not constitute any criminal wrongdoing, it has sparked intense public debate and concern over reputations.

The appearance of a name in documents linked to a proclaimed sex offender has led to heightened scrutiny and calls for accountability, even as authorities have reiterated that inclusion in the files does not imply guilt.

This is significant as several individuals named in the documents have previously denied any involvement with Epstein. The renewed disclosures have intensified public demands for greater transparency regarding Epstein’s network and its broader impact.

The documents referencing Peter Attia include extensive email correspondence between Dr. Attia and Epstein. These disclosures have also prompted renewed attention on a personal account shared by Dr. Attia in his book, Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity.

In the book, Attia described how, during a period in 2017, he remained in New York despite his infant son being hospitalized in critical condition. He wrote that on Tuesday, 11 July 2017, he received a call from his wife, Jill, informing him that their son had stopped breathing and his heart had briefly stopped. Jill performed CPR, which revived the child.

Attia stated that as his son was being transported by ambulance to the hospital, he was traveling by taxi on his way to dinner. He added that despite his son’s critical condition, he did not immediately leave New York, citing professional commitments.

Emails released by the DoJ show that during the same period, Attia had confirmed plans to meet Epstein the following morning and indicated that he could arrive earlier if needed.

The released files contain correspondence between the two men spanning several years. In one email sent in June 2015, Attia wrote to Epstein,

“The life you lead is so outrageous, and yet I can’t tell a soul.”

The correspondence took place several years after Epstein’s first arrest on sex-related charges.

Another email referenced a “fresh shipment,” a phrase that initially drew speculation.

In a statement issued after the documents became public, Attia clarified that the message referred to prescription medication he had received for personal use.

He acknowledged that his response in the exchange involved crude and tasteless banter, which he described as embarrassing and indefensible, but stated that it was not a reference to any illicit or criminal activity.

In his statement, Attia denied any involvement in criminal conduct and said his interactions with Epstein had no connection to sexual abuse or exploitation. He stated that he was never on Epstein’s aircraft, never visited his island or ranch, and was never present at any sex parties.

Attia said he met Epstein approximately seven or eight times between 2014 and 2019 at Epstein’s New York residence, primarily in the context of discussions related to scientific research and professional introductions. He said he was not Epstein’s physician, though he occasionally answered general medical questions and referred him to other providers.

Attia also stated that he had asked Epstein directly about his 2008 conviction, which Epstein characterized as prostitution-related charges. Attia said he later learned that this description had grossly minimized the severity of Epstein’s conduct.

According to Attia, his understanding changed decisively in 2018 after reading investigative reporting that detailed the extent of Epstein’s abuse. He said he was repulsed by what he learned, confronted Epstein, and began disengaging from him.

Attia added that he regrets placing himself in a position where such email exchanges became public and accepted responsibility for the reputational consequences of his past words.

He emphasized that nothing in his explanation is intended to diminish the harm suffered by Epstein’s victims.

Peter Attia made his first social media post following the release of the latest set of Epstein-related documents but did not directly address CBS News, which has not issued a statement regarding the matter.

A huge controversy erupted after a video at the ongoing AI Impact Summit went viral on social media.

A Galgotias University professor, Neha Singh, claimed that the robot dog, named “Orion”, was created in-house by the institution’s Centre of Excellence.

However, netizens quickly found out that it was a Chinese robot dog that the university was claiming as its own.

In the video, Professor Neha Singh claimed that the robot dog was created by the university and was deployed to conduct surveillance and monitoring duties across the university campus.

However, the machine closely resembled a commercially accessible quadruped robot mass-produced by Unitree Robotics.

Online users severely criticised the university for falsification.

Later, after the backlash, Galgotias University issued a clarification and stated that it had never claimed that the robot dog on display was created in-house.

The university also added that it regularly obtained advanced technologies from different locations, including China, Singapore, and the United States, to give its students firsthand exposure to AI technologies.

The university also claimed that the robot was a tool that facilitated students to experiment, learn about its capabilities, and give them a better understanding of robotics and artificial intelligence.

Unitree Robotics mass produces four-limbed robots, which have been nicknamed “robodogs” and can mimic animal movements and are employed for a wide range of applications, such as hurdle navigation, industrial inspection, research applications, and entertainment.

The robodogs manufactured by the company are very popular across the world because they are reasonably priced and rub shoulders with Boston Dynamics’ quadruped robot, Spot.

The episode has also caused a political storm, with the leader of the opposition, Rahul Gandhi, labelling the AI summit a “disorganised PR spectacle”.

Gandhi also alleged that Chinese products have been showcased while the Indian data has been compromised and put on sale.

He also added that the present Modi government has made India a laughing stock globally.
