Spurs Victory Turns Controversial After Viral Video Shows Racist Messages About Hispanic Fans
A huge backlash is surging on the internet after a video became viral on social media that showed a spectator typing a disparaging text message about Hispanic fans during the team’s victory over the Phoenix Suns in the NBA Playoffs 2026 on Thursday, 19 March 2026. The video had 1.4 million views before being removed. What was to become an epoch moment for Spurs, who had pulled off a cliff-hanger, a 101–100 win at the Frost Bank Center, became marred by the unwanted controversy.
The clip originated after a TikTok user named @inluvwganineee shared a video filmed from the lower-level seating area. In the clip a woman could be seen answering a text from a contact named Chris who had written,
“A lot of crazy Hispanic fans.”
The woman in the clip answered back.
“All Hispanic! How can they afford it.”
The video also had a text overlay, which stated,
“If your gma [grandma] was at the game tonight, ew.”
The clip soon spread across the internet, and local fans took to social media to express outrage over the stereotyping of the Hispanic community. According to the U.S. census data, 65% of San Antonio’s 1.5 million residents were of Latino or Hispanic origin. Some fans also posted pictures of themselves being seated in the premium section to debunk the outdated and racist narrative.
After the huge backlash, the San Antonio Spurs released an official statement distancing themselves from the fan’s remarks. In its statement, it said that Frost Bank Center must be a place where members from every community feel a sense of belonging.
“All of us in the Spurs organization are proud to live in San Antonio, a city that shines and thrives because of the culture and contributions of our Latino community,” the statement read. “Inclusion is a foundation for the San Antonio Spurs. We strive to provide an environment, in our facilities and across our community, that celebrates belonging and respect regardless of race or ethnicity. Por Vida.”

Netizens have alleged that the video was recorded when the young woman was in an inebriated state.
The video was viewed by the members of the digital community on Discord and was later widely shared on social media platforms.
Ikari Dota also stated that he has shared evidence, including screenshots and records of conversations with the victim, to validate the claim that no authorisation was granted for this act.

According to the arrest details made public by the police, Braden Clavicular was taken into custody by Fort Lauderdale authorities.
The details were first posted by online reporter @FearedBuck, along with what is alleged to be Clavicular’s mugshot and the booking information.
Reporter Taylor Lorenz in her report wrote,
“Clavicular was just arrested in Fort Lauderdale on a misdemeanor assault charge (no physical contact or injury is required for this charge). The arrest is likely related to a physical fight between Clav’s girlfriend and influencer Jenny Popach, who broke into the Hype House. I’ve reached out to his team for more details.”

Did Erika Kirk File A Lawsuit Against Druski Over Viral Skit? Here’s the Truth
Rumours claiming Erika Kirk planned legal action against Druski over a viral skit have been denied, with the comedian’s team confirming no cease-and-desist notice was issued. The controversy continues to draw strong reactions online.
The internet was rife with rumors that the widow of assassinated conservative influencer Charlie Kirk, Erika Kirk, is going to serve a cease-and-desist letter to comedian Druski after he made fun of Erika in a skit.
The genesis of the alleged rumor can be traced to a now-deleted post by journalist Zellie Imani in which the latter claimed that Erika is getting ready to sue the comedian whose real name is Drew Desbordes.
Media outlet Newsweek reported that the outlet reached out to Druski, and a representative for the comedian negated any such claims and stated that no cease and desist was issued.
Druski had posted a two-minute skit on X on Wednesday evening. The post garnered more than 22 million views by the next morning and by Thursday evening had 80 million views.
The number swelled to 163 million by Saturday. The skit also figured on the social media platform Instagram and had over 3.4 million likes.
Druski labelled his skit “How Conservative Women in America Act,” and although he did not mention the name of Erika Kirk, many netizens felt that he was referring to the latter.

Druski wore blue contact lenses, had blond hair, wore a white suit, and painted his skin.
The skit began with Erika dancing as fireworks began in the background.
It was a take on the real pyrotechnics that went off during Charlie’s memorial service. Erika was brutally trolled after she climbed the stage at her husband’s memorial with music and fireworks in the background.
Many netizens took offense and stated that it was unbecoming during an event that was meant for mourning.
However, a Kirk spokesman, Andrew Kolvet, explained the rationale of using fireworks and stated on X,
“Because our staff loves the effect. They see it as one of our event signatures. And most importantly, Charlie loved it. We do not grieve the way the world grieves. We refuse to let the evil that killed Charlie rob us of our joy in remembering his incredible life and legacy.”
The skit also shows Erika answering questions related to the Iran war and enacted White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.
Druski’s skit was derided by many, including Sen. Ted Cruz, who reposted the video, labelling it
“Beneath contempt.”
Conservative commentator Jon Root wrote,
“What a despicable human being @druski is… Erika Kirk’s husband was brutally assassinated, their kids are now without a father, & Druski (and countless other lowlifes) make her the butt of their sick jokes over and over again.”
