Who is Gregory Bovino? DHS Promo Video Sparks Nazi Imagery Outrage as Border Patrol commander Faces Court Scrutiny
A DHS promotional video featuring Border Patrol commander Gregory Bovino has sparked fierce backlash after viewers compared its visuals and tone to Nazi propaganda. The controversy intensified following criticism from California Governor Gavin Newsom, court scrutiny over ICE tactics, and widespread social media mockery branding the video overtly fascist.
DHS promo videos have spawned controversy in the past, and its latest video is no different. It features Border Patrol commander Gregory Bovino in a black trench coat and star pins, which drew instant Nazi comparisons.
The outcry was further amplified by California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who has labeled it as overtly fascist.
The video immediately started a deluge of memes with an SS vibe, linking it to Bovino’s style of functioning, which has found extensive support from the far right.
The new Nazi blockbuster is coming to German cinemas soon.

Wrong.
This striking guy in the Nazi coat—Gregory (Greg) Bovino—is a high-ranking U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer, holding a position created specifically for him as "Special Operations Commander."

The DHS promo video depicts Border Patrol commander Gregory Bovino leaving the court wearing a long black trench coat.
The video also carried a provoking title, “WE WILL NOT BE STOPPED,” with a gabber remix of Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida” in the background.
The video hit the social media platform X on the same day when US District Judge Sara Ellis ordered Gregory Bovino to be present in court daily at 6 pm.
Ellis was appointed by the Obama administration and demanded all details of ICE agents’ tactics, which included chemical rounds and pepper balls near a family parade, injuring a 67-year-old citizen with broken ribs.
Bovino, 55, fresh after his Los Angeles mass raids, which led to massive outrage, is now heading Operation Midway Blitz in Chicago.
His apparel had an eerie similarity to Hitler-era officers and led to numerous memes on social media.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom reposted:
“If you think the calls of fascism… are hyperbole, pause and watch this video. They aren’t even trying to hide who they are.” Netizens dubbed it “Munchkin Himmler” or “Schindler’s List vibes.”

While, DHS tried to make amends and stated that it was a standard uniform worn by officials but dodged questions on SS parallels.
The resurfacing of an old tweet, “Serve your country! “Defend your culture!” led to further outrage, and the recruitment methodology was decried by an Auschwitz survivor, Karl Stojka.
One user underlined the similarity with Nazi perpetrators who reproduced Stoika’s words.
“It was not Hitler or Himmler who abducted me, beat me, and shot my family. It was the shoemaker, the milkman, and the neighbor who received a uniform and then believed they were the master race.”
Judge Ellis severely blamed the agents for treating Halloween-parade kids as threats and also asked for all body cam footage to be made available by Friday.
Despite the outrage, Gregory Bovino remained defiant and unapologetic on X.
Footage also showed him lobbing tear gas, risking court breaches.

Texas Woman Carmen Mejia Freed After 22 Years as Court Overturns Wrongful Conviction in Infant Scalding Case
Carmen Mejia was freed after spending more than two decades in prison for the 2003 scalding death of a child in her care. A Innocence Project review uncovered new testimony and scientific evidence, leading a Texas court to overturn her conviction.
An Austin woman was wrongfully sentenced to life imprisonment in 2003 on charges of the scalding death of a child in her care.
Carmen Mejia walked out of prison after more than twenty years, after new testimony and scientific evidence led the courts to contend that she was wrongfully convicted in the tragic death of a baby, which was then considered to have been deliberately scalded.
The Austin woman, who is also a mother of four, had for the last 22 years maintained that the tragic death of the child was a devastating accident and not a crime.
The conviction was overturned after new scientific evidence and testimony were placed before the court.

The mother of four was acquitted on 9 March 2026 by a Texas court, declaring her innocent of a crime that had devastated her life.
The genesis of the case can be traced to 28 July 2003, when Carmen Mejia, who was the nanny of a 10-month-old boy while also taking care of her four children at her Austin home, accidentally scalded the child in a bathtub.
According to the evidence presented before the court, the child suffered extensive burns after being exposed to hot bathwater in the rented apartment.
Further investigation found the water heater was not equipped with safety features that would have prevented the bath water from reaching extremely high temperatures.
Evidence presented before the court revealed that the bathwater temperatures had reached 65 degrees centigrade, which was hot enough to precipitate third-degree burns.
The infant was later rushed to a medical facility but succumbed to complications caused by extensive burns. Prosecutors alleged that Carmen Mejia had deliberately submerged the child in scalding water and delayed seeking medical help.
She was convicted of murder and injury and sentenced to life imprisonment.
Years later, the case was again opened for scrutiny under the Innocence Project and uncovered new testimony. A key testimony which turned the case in Carmen Mejia’s favour was that of her daughter, who was three years old when the tragedy happened.
As an adult, she testified that she had turned the faucet on the bathtub when the baby was inside. She further stated that her mother was not in the bathroom then.
Investigators also uncovered serious lapses in the original prosecution.
It found that the jury never heard video-recorded interviews in which Carmen Mejia’s daughters reinforced their mother’s story about the accident. Years later, after the conviction, burn experts stated that the burns were consistent with those due to accidental scalding rather than intentional harm.
All this new evidence led the Texas Court to overturn the conviction and let Carmen walk free from her prison cell.

He is a well-known name in the wrestling circuit and often hosts high-profile bouts under his banner. It was in this rally that Trump hinted that Paul would soon venture into politics.
The venue of the event was the Verst Logistics Contract Packaging Facility in Hebron. Trump went on into a blistering attack on US House Representative Thomas Massie, a vehement Trump critic. Later, he ushered Jake Paul onto the stage and asked him to run for a political office in the US and also promised to endorse him if he did so.
This sparked a huge debate in social media circles, and answers were sought as to whether he was a registered Republican voter and if he endorsed President Trump’s electoral campaign of 2023.
However, the boxer has mostly lived in Puerto Rico since 2021. He was originally from Westlake, Ohio, and it is unclear if he can vote in the US presidential elections. He, however, was a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump and even voiced his support in the 2024 campaign of Trump for the US presidential polls.
He cited economy, borders, and free speech as the reasons for his support for Trump. After Trump’s victory, he hailed it as a win for truth and God and attended the inauguration of the Trump administration with his brother Logan.
Trump made a prediction about Jake Paul and stated,
“I’m going to make a prediction that you will be, in the not-too-distant future, running for political office,” the 79-year-old said. “You have my complete and total endorsement.”
Paul later took the mic and stated.
“What Mr. Trump has taught me is courage. We never back down from a fight, even if they’re much bigger than you, much, much bigger than you. I feel all the local Kentuckians feel the same way. You guys have that fight. You guys have that swag.”

12-Foot Gold Donald Trump – Jeffrey Epstein ‘Titanic Pose’ Statue Appears at National Mall, Ignites Social Media Debate
A satirical statue depicting Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein in a Titanic-inspired pose briefly appeared on the National Mall. The gold-painted installation sparked intense debate online before authorities removed the controversial protest artwork.
Widespread media and public attention were drawn when an unknown artist mounted a gold, Titanic-inspired statuette of US President Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein on the National Mall in Washington, DC.
It was satire at its best when the protest art came up at the National Mall, and the artist took a cue from the famous pose by Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet in the film “Titanic.”
The statue has sparked intense debate and discussion on social media platforms.
A new statue installation by anonymous artist collective Secret Handshake appeared this week on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

Soon, the clips of the erection of the statue on Tuesday morning began going viral on social media.
The statue is 12 feet in height and is coated with gold-colored paint.
In the statue, US President Donald Trump could be seen standing behind convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein while they are facing the Washington Monument.
The duo is seen in the same pose as the one given by Leonardo and Kate in front of the ill-fated ship.
It was a satirical take on the alleged friendship between Jeffrey Epstein and the US President and was also labelled with the title ‘Best Friends Forever.’
It is reported that the statue was erected by the Secret Handshake collective and has achieved its aim of starting a huge debate on the controversial relationship.
However, the statue was later removed, and it once again proved the fact that public art related to prominent political personalities is not digested easily.
Beneath the statue, a plaque was placed that read,
“The tragic love story between Jack and Rose was built on luxurious travel, raucous parties, and secret nude sketches. This monument honours the bond between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, a friendship seemingly built on luxurious travel, raucous parties, and secret nude sketches.”
Ten banners were also placed, and every picture featured the duo together, and one banner repeated the Trump slogan during his election campaign of making America safe again.
One of the banners also featured the emblem of the United States Department of Justice, albeit without the word “Justice,” which was redacted.
The erection of the statue comes at a time when there is increased scrutiny of the relationship between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein.
The debate gained traction after the release of the files related to the Jeffrey Epstein case.
Epstein was charged with running a child sex and prostitution ring and had committed suicide while awaiting trial in his cell.
